Hold You Close And Keep You Warm
You stare at my twisted arm,
Follow the scars, a punishment many times decreed,
And I hold you close and keep you warm.
Bright One, I loathe your beauty, your sunrise charm,
Your constant, clinging need,
And the way you stare at my twisted arm.
In the harmless dark I sense your alarm,
And why should I take heed?
But I hold you close and keep you warm.
You hear me scream, but you don't know my nightmare's form.
There is so much fury for you to feed
As you stare at my twisted arm.
I'll ruin you with slow, silent harm.
You cut me open, scream when I bleed,
But I hold you close and keep you warm.
Now we tremble in the grip of the storm.
You lie against my chest and softly plead,
No longer staring at my twisted arm,
While I hold you close and keep you warm.
