Why Do People Lie?

Why do people lie?
It only causes pain
Maybe not today
But somewhere down the lane
We lie about our age
About the color of our hair
We lie about our school days
And about the secrets that we share
Lots of people get mad
Because other people lie too
Sometimes about little things
But also big things too
We lie about our background
And the people that we know
We lie about our history
And pray that it dont show
We all want to belong
In some way, shape, or form
We all want to fit in
And not be out of the norm.
