I Am A Teenager
I am a teenager, wondering yet excited.
I wonder what is in store for the future.
I hear it creeping towards me,
And see it moving unwaveringly.
I want to do the best I can, because,
I am a teenager, wondering yet excited.
I pretend it is written in stone,
And feel my excitement mounting as I get closer and closer.
I touch the smooth rock and its rough carvings,
And fear that it is wrong.
I cry in fear of its truthfulness, because,
I am a teenager, wavering yet excited.
I understand that the future can be changed, so
I say that anything is possible.
I dream about the things I will do, the things I’ll accomplish and the places I’ll have been.
I try to be the best I can, and
I hope for an amazing tomorrow, because
I am a teenager, wondering yet excited.
