The Pill Bug
I see you little pill bug
Rolling up
And I wonder why you feel
The need to cover up
Are you really frightened?
Or just hurt?
A mystery that goes with me to bed
A story that will never be said
I wish I could know
Exactly what you think
When people admire you
And hold you on a leaf
One of life's mysteries
Is how you are you
If only we could find a way
For you to say
I hope you would tell us
How you are you
But since we're not bugs like you
And since you can't speak the way we do
I guess I'll wonder about you
In my dreams forever
But until that day comes
Where we all understand
Life will always be bland
Without the not-so-grand pill bug
To hold in my hand
