I know the taste of blood
before it's on my tongue,
I know this is a race
that can never be won.
I know that the flood
will catch me in my fun.
And yet, when the shot fires,
I know that I will run.

I love this poem. I think it really captures human stubborness and tenacity. Knowing that you are going to lose/die but still fighting. I LOVE IT!!!!
