I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality. ~H.A. Overstreet

Heartless herald skylark
Visit me no more
I can't help but give out a cry
When I see you at my door.

You found your perfect hiding place
Behind a dead mans resting face
To tell me my love is a waste
Beyond the gates of war

Heartless herald skylark
Please try to ignore
My tender hearts rough pounding
Eating away my core.

Expressionless you mock my pain
With face as hard as stoney rain
No mourn to give what could have been
Or the way it was before

Heartless herald skylark
Why visit me, I implore
When all you do
Is mock my rue
Detaining my front door

It's brilliant. The rhyming is wonderfully done. Your words and emotion in the poem are fantastic.

Thanks, my teacher said it reminded her of Edgar Allen Poe.

...one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love....I love...I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on. -Mr. Darcy

This was great! When I was reading it, I felt like I was reading work by an older, classical poet!  I highly enjoyed it :)

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.

I love the rhythm of this poem, the meaning, and your choice of words! It was an absolutely lovely poem and I give you a thumbs way up! `""
