Longing
Do bare trees remind me of deserts?
They are desolate and empty
And am I treated the same?
Warm lips, do yours feel like that?
Mine are cold and longing
Are they untouched?
What would love be like?
It is sensual and placid
So I’ve heard there are no tears?
Deserts hold only barren ground
Bare trees only hold the future of winter
Your lips are warm from love
Mine are cold from innocence
I long to kiss yours
And feel your compassion bleed through
I’ll know how much you longed for me
Just as winter longs for spring
And deserts long for forests
I long for you.
