I See And Hear America
As I wake from my deep slumber,
And I am surrounded by the overwhelming,
Sights and sounds,
Of America this great country that I love.
As I look at the beautiful sunrise,
Which sets the sky aflame,
And I hear the birds sing,
I see children playing,
And laughing without a care,
As they run on the grass,
A sea of emerald green.
I see lovers embrace,
And never letting go,
I hear babies cry,
And I watch them grow.
I see and hear the city,
In all it's splendor,
I see it's lights,
And I hear people,
Singing about freedom,
And I sing along.
I see the cold and lonely,
And I feel there pain,
But in their eyes,
I see a gleam of hope.
I see the stars and the moon,
At night shining so high,
In the dark sky,
Like dew drops of light,
In a never ending field of black,
I see and hear America.
