Peacefully
With your hands folded across your chest
It looks like you are sleeping,
But you are at eternal rest.
I know you tried your best
To stop me from weeping,
With your hands folded across your chest.
Some say that I’m blessed
And everything is worth keeping,
But you are at eternal rest.
Everyone starts to seem like a guest
Going around sweeping,
With your hands folded across your chest.
After everyone is gone and finished the rest
I sit there with my tears slowly seeping,
But you are at eternal rest.
What do I do with a room without zest?
Sitting, waiting, abundantly weeping.
With your hands folded across your chest,
But you are at eternal rest.
