Past the Brink
Solitude is my only company
The room is blankness, and it crushes my body.
I push, it pulls.
But the belts on my back are pitiless, and
I can’t wrench my arms free or force an escape.
The room swings is tandem, with
The only light bulb’s string
I swing too…
Back to side, side to front,
like a clock
Blink
Has no time passed,
Or have I blinked another day away?
The stay has been long
So I cry and plead to be released
But still only
Solitude replies to my whimpers
With my own echo
