Sweet Dreams
I try to remember
Not to think
Too much of you.
I find myself,
Dreaming in the day,
Floating through the night,
Speaking with my heart,
and staying in a sweet abyss
Of complete obliviousness to everything
That isn’t you.
I try,
To shut my eyes,
and make blind this love that burns
Through everything,
And anything.
Love.
Love that feels, and love that sighs.
Love that whispers its sweet lullabies,
Into my ear I hear you say,
I need and breathe you every day.
But that wasn’t you,
It was not your voice.
I conjured it up in a secret ploy. To believe these things before I went to bed,
And dream of sweet nothings that were never said.
