All A Lie
Everynight she tells herself,
things will get better.
Yet they never do.
Everynight she cries herself to sleep,
just to wake up and hide her pain and
unhappiness with a fake smile.
She tells everybody she's fine,
that nothing is wrong.
But it's all a lie.
And still she wakes in the morning,
looks herself in the mirror,
and tells herself that she is a beautiful, intelligent, sweet, and loving girl,
and it's worth another day.
But it's all a lie.
