Horizon Deep
Thick air, peaceful and still,
healing breaths mark time until,
the storms of summer slash and burn,
but for now, the day has no ill turn,
a breeze ruffles branches green,
animals of day, still unseen,
Heavy clouds drift evermore,
Breaking sunlight, so still and sure,
They loom upon horizon deep,
and struggle through the waking sleep,
Not a sound breaks this calming day,
But soon, thunder makes its violent slay,
For now, I just enjoy the rest,
and creep towards when the day is best.
