Triangle
My life is a triangle having three points. One is my mom, one is my dad and the other is me unable to make all of them an even right angle degree. Point Dad is laidback, fun to be around but ungrateful and deceitful. All my life, he was the angle I leaned towards – the “right” angle. They say your teen years are your turning point; three weeks ago, that proved to be true for me. Point Dad’s angle degree decreased as he got farther
away physically and emotionally from Point Me and closer to others. Point Mom, on the other hand, was always small, always distant and always a long line from me to her. Three weeks ago, her degree also changed; it grew. Then there is Point Me: the center angle, the news carrier, and most of all, the pivot point. I pivot between opinions, memories and, unfortunately, two separate points. I always will.
