Counter Clockwise
The clock ticks.
Like heels on the floor.
In one direction two stubborn hands,
swirl in a loop against life,
refusing to turn back.
It is not that surprising though.
For a human toy of standard proportions,
to follow one way-
And refuse another?
Instilling order in increments,
Never letting chaos ensue.
Frame by frame the hands
March to the same rhythm,
The same beat, every day.
Routine by routine
Never letting up,
Never picking another drummer.
Side by side humans and their time
Flow down the gradient in increments
Never bothering to instill a device,
To chose another way to counter their clocks.
