Promises
I gave you my heart, my soul, my strength,
I gave you my love my everything
I wish that you would take it,
But don’t take it for granted
I asked you please, please if it’s to much to handle
Don’t take it, don’t break it
‘Cause it’s been broken many times before
And you turned around and messed with my heart
You took it, you broke it
When I asked you please don’t
You told me you loved me,
You told me you cared,
You told me you’ll be there for me when I scared
But that’s just another promise you’ll break
So I’m not going to hold you up to it
‘Cause all the promises you’ve already made
Have all been broken in the first ten days
