A child -our child-
You cannot now but be afraid
Of all that you might lose
And curse the curcumstances
that force you to chose.
You are to young,
A child yourself,
As am I and yet,
We have a child between us.
This child -our child-
has no one else
To be his only father.
Others may be guardians
But you can be no other.
Everything we've wanted turns
To what we must accept.
I do not ask to live with you
or ever be your wife;
Only that you share the gift
And burden of a life.
