Late Night Anthem
It’s late
I’m tried
There is no rest to be found
All I can mange is thoughts about bed
Dreams await me
Sleep swoons me in
But my eyes will not close
They aren’t ready to be tucked in
They are awake with curiosity
I am unable to tame
Dancing around
Catching a glimpse
Of this and that
Their determination is admirable
If only my sleep could prevail.
Oh what a fight
It’s one for the books
The war between rest
And eyes open to look
