Evening's children shadowed with pain
Evening's children shadowed with pain
Soil-colored cheeks drowning with rain
Sun-fringed shade crowded with hope
Africa's children fighting to cope
Even the innocents unknown of despair
Have knowledge of people who don't seem to care
Everyday their bellies grow hollow
Tearful eyes full of Africa's sorrow
Sickness is spreading, not just of the mind
Old eyes in young bodies, hoping to find
The love of a heart, a kind soul, a true being
To tell them the truth of Africa's meaning
