Goodbye
I sit alone in the sullen alley,
My legs pulled tightly
To my chest.
Silence fills the air.
My thoughts race
And my heart pounds
As I rest my head
Against the cold brick wall.
Goodbye.
Words spoken moments before
Echo in my mind.
How could he do this to me?
I thought we were in love,
But his actions have shown me
It was only lies.
Now he has left me behind,
Alone in the world.
His last word repeats:
Goodbye.
Tears spill down my face
Faster than I can
Wipe them away.
Goodbye.
My heart aches
As I whisper the word
That makes me cry harder:
Goodbye.
We were a couple,
Two people in love.
But now we are broken
And I am alone,
Left with only a goodbye.
