The Jungle Dance
Bodies sway
Like apes in the trees
As the dancers move
Across the floor.
Together in a group,
They fling their arms
Into the air,
Letting an unknown force
Guide their motions.
Others watch the movements
In awe and wonder,
Curious about this species
That moves like apes
Yet looks like humans.
The wild spirit within
Is let free
As shouts and yells
Fill the air,
Reminding us
How we are connected
To our ancestors,
The apes,
Through the dance.
