The Winter Disappears
Breathing out the clearest winds
The winter lies down and sleeps.
While the winter has her eyes closed,
Her son, the spring, slowly creeps.
He climbs upon her, frightens her,
And she groggily awakens.
Seeing the smiling face of spring
Puts joy on her stern, cold face.
For the first time in months,
She feels truly glad.
Her sadness melts away,
The happiness almost drives her mad.
He asks her to join him in hide and seek,
And she eagerly agrees.
While making sure he doesn’t peek,
She hides among the trees.
And so he’ll seek for months to come,
Searching the woods and the grounds.
For a while, while he searches,
He decides to stick around.
