The Beowulf in Me
I have been the greatest in my own life for as long as I can remember.
I have found no equal in any of my battles.
I have questioned myself many times if it is worth living, if there are no more challenges left.
Like most heroes from mythical books, I faced many obstacles as a kid.
I left my home land forced by destiny,
the same destiny that has placed in my way many challenges.
I am proud to say that I have faced every one of these challenges and have brought back from them no less than a victory.
The experiences have made me a leader, a voice to be heard in the middle of a raging crowd.
Some say that it’s a natural gift I have had since I was born.
Fool, the man who tries to take credit away.
Many broken dreams are what I carry in my chest from my past.
No family, no roots, and faded memories are what I still have from my childhood.
Haunted by the sole question of how my life could be, and who I would be today, if I had just grown into a man in the heart of my mother land.
