we accept the love we think we deserve - the perks of being a wallflower

Loud, rude, teasing
I was blind
Foul mouthed, mean, gone
I was lost

But you dug deeper
Coaxing me out of my shell
My protection
Spinning pretty little fantasies
With every sickeningly sweet word
Coming from your mouth

You were the magic gardener
Silently, swiftly, quickly
Planting small seeds of false hope
Deep in my mind
'Till they grew like weeds
Overpowering my common sense

Drugged into becoming myself
Soft, sweet, shy
You took advantage of my innocence
Striking me in the back with the black blade of broken hearts
Killing me all over again;
Once again the lost blind little girl I was
