Never a Terrorist, Always a Muslim
I’m not a “terrorist”.
I’m not a suicide bomber.
I would never fly into a tower.
Never.
I’m not a “Jihadist”.
I’m not an intolerant person.
I would never kill people for insubordination.
Never.
I’m not an “Fundamentalist”.
I don’t ride a camel.
I would never want to see blood rushing out of people.
Never.
I’m not an “Extremist”.
I don’t have a terrorist crew.
The Qu’ran never supports killing you.
Never.
I’m a Muslim.
Understand the difference.
Please stop the stereotypes.
Please, for once, listen.
Listen, to a true Muslim.

Yes, you are right - the media does create an illusion of what true Jihad is.
First off, the definition of JIhad is not "holy war". It's a noun in Arabic that most closely means "inner struggle."
When the media refers to it as some sort of "holy war", they are only saying that because of the misconcieved definition. Just like the word ignorant - it means unknowledgeable, but today people use it as it means "rude".
Jihad is internal and external. But the external Jihad doesn't mean to kill people. Internal Jihad, for example, could be struggling to face the stereotypes about Muslims - like I do.
Many people also mistake Jihad as a 6th pillar of Islam. This isn't true - and the media often claims this. There are only 5 pillars of Islam.
I hope that answers your question.
