I’m Not a Mirror
I’m not a mirror,
I do not reflect what you out in front of me.
I do not move the same way you do,
Or I do not mimic the world around me.
A mirror reflects everything around it,
I am not a mirror, I am an individual.
I am more like a painting,
A painting that makes a statement.
A painting that has bold lines and colors,
These lines and colors never change.
They change if the artist wants them to,
But this artist isn’t changing anything.
The painting makes a statement to all,
Which everyone can relate to.
People might be afraid to admit they relate,
Because they only talk about it with their close friends.
But my painting tells the whole truth,
I am not afraid of showing it.
I am the painting you stare at and have no idea what it is about,
But you understand after awhile….
