Hello fall
You comforting specter
You approach yearly upwind
That I may catch the scent
Of the change you bring with you
You whisper to the leaves
Coercing them to jump
They seem to leap from their branches
The moment you arrive
Tucking the earth under
A blanket of rustling brown burlap
Crisp with moist comfort
Your chill breath on my neck
A whisper carried on the breeze
Convincing me to jump in my bed
Under a comforter of down
Till you and the sun
are upwind again
