Where did those late nights go?
Filled with ramen and coffee and study study study
Where did my dream of poetry go?
Of matching Lennon-McCartney’s phenomenal skill
Why not?
Faith is a virtue
Give up?
I didn’t think so
Fess up?
Well, what do you think?
Where did your time for me go?
Art school too much for you to balance?
Where did that café in the city go?
All music and splatterpaint murals and you you you
I cannot believe this chaos, this roaring mess
I thought you were stronger than a paper chain
And your Hush Sound CD is shattered on the floor, did you know?
So maybe I was hasty, and
Maybe you were foolish, but
Wherever did those dreams of love go?

This is a great poem. I love when poets use specifics:  ramen, lennon and mccartney, the cafe, etc. It gives the poem an heir of realness. Very very good job. PS: I love the Hush Sound :)

I'm not going to change the way I look or the way I feel to conform to anything. I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people.
~John Lennon
