There is More to Life than Love
I say that there is more to life than love.
Assure you that we have a higher plan,
That there are other things worth thinking of,
That romance cannot be the end of man.
I tell myself these feelings are a hoax,
And happiness is better sought elsewhere.
No matter how my heart will try to coax,
I am convinced that love cannot compare.
Ah yes, for great pursuits of life exist
That far outweigh the passionate appeals
Of contemplating someone one has kissed
Of adoration that one merely feels.
But if there is a greater thing than this,
I simply cannot tell you what it is.
