Come.
I see them surpass me,
Growing stronger day by day
I watch them grow with jealousy,
Because I can no longer see what they see.
Because it's no longer within me,
A child's ability to be free
A teen’s talent for digging straight into the soul,
To see with the wide eyes of a newborn foal.
Salty tears I taste,
Tears you embrace.
Footsteps I only hear,
You never endingly fear.
Images drowned in a violent flash,
Then rip apart with a sudden slash,
Run.
Through jagged strips of the sun.
On rotting forest floors,
Among the flowers dying spores.
Don't stop,
You have to reach the top.
Of the icy mountains where lost innocence hides,
Meet the thrashing tides.
Don't stop,
Until you reach the top.
Almost there,
To the sweet clear blue air.
Don't stop,
Not so close to the top.
For we are waiting
