Without Him
The sun shines bright As we wait For some light to Be shed upon this tragedy Santa comes softly As we all lay awake Our souls so lonely Hearts break As tears pore No seasonal joy here Only the black silk ribbons Flutter in the breeze The water, smooth and calm Causes so much pain They stare and shake their heads As the surface breaks with the pounding rain Death sings a soft lullaby As we face the nightmares That lay just beyond our eyes Seconds count down to zero A new year begins We take another step And prepare for a year Without him.
