People say I’m
So strong,
Yet they don’t see
How they’re wrong
How on the
Inside I long

To be able
To just cry
To be myself and
Not ask WHY?
To not hear that
“Oh great” sigh.

Why do you want me
To be someone I’m not?
All my life a war
I have fought

Against who they
Want me to be,
And the real,
The broken me

When they see me,
They see a shield
When the real me
Has yet to be healed.

A lucky few actually
Have the key,
Yet they don’t know,
Cuz I don’t let em see.

Some think that
They do,
Even though what I
Show is not the true.

In reality, I’m
A broken chain
Some think I don’t, but
I feel every ounce of pain
Sadly some hurt me for
Their personal gain.

Sometimes I thought
Just end it!!!
This life, I
Just wanted to quit

How it wasn’t
Worth the fight
At the end of the tunnel
I saw no light.

I’ve handled storms
That are tough,
So yea, my edges
Are a lil rough.

Some wonder how
I can still trust
Since I have been served
So much unjust.

Sometimes I just
Wanna be alone
But then I realize that
I have never been on my own.

Everyday I go through an
Act I call a game
It helps me hide
All of my shame.

When I’m down, I
Know what to say.
“Yes, I’m all right,
I’m okay.”
When it’s all really
A part in my own play.

Some days I don’t think I
Can make it through the night
So many wrong things
Then feel right.

When I’m alone
And I cry
There feels like there
Is no reason to try.
There is no one to give
Me the disappointed eye.

There was a time
I had my own escape
Now I realize I just needed
Some one to help.

Someone to help me
See the other side,
Someone so I
Could confide.
Someone the real me
Didn’t have to hide
Someone to hold
Me when I cried
Someone to be
My guide.
Someone to be able
To walk beside.
Someone who helped me
When I fell in stride.

Thankfully that some
One I have found,
Idk how, but
You heard my sound.

You showed me how
This life is worth living
How you loved me through
All of my lying.
You where always there
When I was crying.

You took me
Under your wing.
Now I wonder, how
Can I repay my King?
