SUN SHOWER
When the rays burn bright
through the sleek graceful drops
I lay in the lush green grass
and let the feelings overtake me
I smell the fresh
crisp perfumes
of a blooming shower
The sun is warm on my face
making my insides flush
but the rain immediately gives me a splash
of cool
I feel my jeans soaking
and clinging to my skin
I must close my eyes
as the drops pad and tap softly
on the delicate lids
The wild glow of the emperor of day
is too bright
I listen
It’s like fireworks
A bursting beauty
into something seemingly dark
The sun popping,
pushing,
edging
through,
in,
out,
around,
over,
under
the rain
And suddenly I feel
as though the pellets of majestic dew
have missed me
They are falling and dripping,
yes,
but not onto me
And I get to relish the scene
from the outside
I am a loner
wandering and observing
I see the flowers, swaying as I rise to watch
I feel alone
I run, trying to catch up to the rain
and let the sun capture me
And I fall once more
into the green, green grass
And fall asleep
in the middle of a sun shower
