The Leap of Faith
The wind is nonexistent, like a buddy gone astray. It is the still before the tempest.
This is his first time, and everything is ready, there is no excuse now. Inside he wants to turn back but he knows he can’t.
Then he takes that fateful leap into oblivion; a bird taking its first flight. The wind appears out of nowhere rushing towards him as he falls.
Slowly the ground is getting c-l-o-s-e-r; creeping up on him like a stalker in a dark alley.
His heart beat quickens and, even though he knows he is safe, he flails his arms. Then the bungee cord tightens and he slows down to a stop.
