Monster with Many Faces
Love is a word known by more then one name.
Is the substance that makes up a period,
In which we lose all common feeling;
And we are replaced temporarily
With an everlasting sensation
Of ecstasy.
But leads us to forked roads
To fire and to the continuation
Of a feeling we have experienced for
Only a second.
It exposes our weak spots
Makes us venerable
Leads to the deaths of a million hearts
And a million souls
All cast out by the pain
This substance brings onto our lives
An obsession that can turn the most sane into a psychopath
A boulder and into a wall of brittle glass
A substance with many faces
Emotions and tricks on it’s task
Never obtained nor controlled
It picks its victims at random
No one is immune
To this substance with many names
Love
