Leaving
I lost myself in a dream
My foolish subconscious took over me
I dreamt of you in navy blue
Leaving me now, all too soon
I cried and pleaded for you not to go
You sobbed because it’s a duty you cannot throw
At my window we cried throughout the night
You still need to pack for your afternoon flight
Nervousness showed through in your brown eyes
Fighting for this country, you might die
I will continue praying for you everyday
No matter what I’ll love you the same
I awoke sweating, this can’t be true
Until I realized I was without you
