A Strange Realization

The alarm echoes throughout the room,
Piercing my ears with the sharp sound of misery.
A new day has begun,
I slowly edge my way out of bed.
The smell of bacon lingering from the kitchen,
Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle,
As straighten every strand of hair.
The news predicts rain for the day,
As water pours out of the faucet while I brush my teeth.
The alarm echoes throughout my room,
The day has begun and I realize,
It was just a nightmare.
