FAREWELL DAYS Blow kisses to the summer sunshine, chilled and chewed by the returning breezes, drifting earthbound. A little farewell gift—for a little while— to be pasted on schoolhouse windows, pressed between pages of books, dived into (and upon), and once again raked out of indignant lawns. The geese look on with outstretched necks, in perfect flight formation; while the turkey looks on without a neck at all, on MotherÕs best platter. Beside the sweetest drops of cranberry blood.
