The Delay Of a School Day
The day outside was white as snow
The school was grey though.
The smiles of students so happily there,
Were replaced by tears
Of devastation and despair.
Half the day gone;
Half the students disappear.
One by one they leave until
Only one is left standing.
Although there was a blanket of freshly fallen snow
The school felt cold and stood alone.
There for all to watch and see
Not an eye without a tear
Or heart that wasn’t broken
The school stood alone
But the students as one.
