Unfold now, the antiquity of a memory
lost in the snowy banks and mountains called home

You were there in the waiting

with eyelashes covered in jewels of snow

Long arms were extended towards me

You were the gate and I was the key

Running to you, cold slush filled my boots

and I fell into a pile, face first

A bird sounding laugh errupted your chest

but only red dared bud from my cheeks

You held me like a child and an infant I was

We stared at the sky for eternity

Before we left, our fingers and noses were numb

When we said our goodbyes

it hurt more than the chill

that had grown on my spine

Now it hurt the same when you left again
Only this time you could not come back

We were both the memories of a place called home

Now, you can watch over me once more

When I am running to you through the snow

My original concept is an old woman remembering a memory of her late husband. It ends with the reasurance that he is still there waiting for her until she comes back to him.

That's so cool! I love the concept and the description. "bird sounding laugh" love it! Great job!
