Why do the wolves cry to the moon,
Why do the night owls sleep?
Why do the rivers keep flowing along,
Why do the willow trees weep?

Why do the crickets play their music,
Why do the daisies awake in Spring?
Why do the stars shine in heaven,
Why do the bumble bees sting?

Why do the Mourning Doves sing their song,
Why do the raindrops fall?
Why do the leaves change their colors,
Why do the Redwoods grow so tall?

Why do the planets orbit the sun,
Why do the dolphins play?
Why do the volcanoes spit lava and fire,
Why do the palm trees sway?

Why do the Northern winds whisper,
Why do the flowers smell so sweet?
Why do the thunderstorms go raging on,
Why do the songbirds tweet?

I much too often take for granted
the beauty around me every day,
But when I pause to take it in
my curious mind is blown away.

Why is our world so mysterious,
What are God's secret ways?
The wonders of His handiwork
leave me to amaze.
