They walk away
They were all so, so happy
The people of the town
They didn't realize how sappy
Until the day I came around
But beneath all of the glory
Was a small room, peeling and gray
It was musty, dirty, disguisting
There sat a little boy who didn't know how to play
The child was reeking with excriment
It's body curled awkwardly
Against the forces of nature
That made it such a leper to thee
Some from the town came to see it
The child that knew not of words
Some laughed, some cried, some tried to hide
But no one helped it, but they could
Days later, after seeing
Some would go quiet, unheard
They would simply step away
From the perfect town where it hurt
They knew that the child was misunderstood
It hurt, it cried, it knew light
But for the city to be happy
The child must know only hurt
So the people who walk away from the light of the ciity
They are the ones who cannot stand to be
To live in a world where hurt is undone
To live where the people know of the child
The child whose misery is the base
For their undeniable happiness
So the ones who walk away from the light
They are the ones who know that they are right
