Call Me Names
Call me parrot
For I am taught to mimic
Attitude, emotion
Even though I do not feel it.
Call me horse
For I am taught to carry
Another's weight
Even though I am unwilling
Call mouse
For I am taught to fear
Those "better" than me
Even though we are all equals
Call me dog
For I am taught to obey
The man with the leash
Even though I do not respect him
Call me fish
For I am taught to be content
With my little bowl
Even though there is an ocean outside
Call me tiger
For I am taught to attack
Those who threaten me
Even though anger is not the answer
Call me human
For I am taught all of these
Inhuman ideals
And I do not listen
