It's me or them

A tsunami washing over
my mind
Lingering the smell of ocean
salt on the ground
Tricking my mind to
thinking of the sun
the golden light spilling
across the table onto
the floor
splattered on my mind's eye,
the lens opened wider
only to reveal
overcast skies and
everyshade of grey
I've been running from
my whole life,
restricting myself to
thinking in black and white.
