it's good to be here.
In my book of moments,
this is page one.
looking up
locks falling away from your face
your hands
finally freed.
alive to feel
alive to work
alive to dance
alive to hurt
alive to be.
alive to take it all--
I'll carry it with me wherever I go
piling on my shoulders
pounds of promises
jars of hope
masses of peace.
alive to take it all--
I know the places I have yet to see
outweigh the places I've been.
