best friend
When darkness fades to gray
And dawn turns to day
With everything to fear
still you are there
By my side saving me
from all those lies
I once believed
But now I see
how you truly care
for me
How I was never alone
you were by phone
Waiting for my call
A friendly voice,
a helping hand,
A shoulder to cry on
How could I never see?
You were right in front of me
Since the first time our
eyes cross each other
Back when we were kids
Never worrying about the future
You held my hand and
I felt myself slowly
coming under you spell
Losing all hope of
getting you out of my mind
I tried to get out
Fighting with every last breath
Scared to death of losing myself
You helped me out
By letting go and making me see
How much I wanted you with me
And now what scares me the most
Is not losing myself but you
And when everything
Is said and done
You’re my best friend
No one else could be
