He walks in the room,

Suddenly I swoon.

He’s made me red in the face

With the way he speaks with the tone of a bass.

He stands tall,

Tall like a tree above all.

He walks over, staring me in the eye.

My mouth becomes dry.

His shadow engulfs me.

Nervousness overpowers me.

At the speed of light

He steals the seat to my right,

and suddenly strikes a conversation.

He stared at me like I was a goddess’s creation.

Time passes.

I’m given chances.

Chances to dance hand in hand with him;

Stay by his side until life goes dim.

I accept his confession.

I’m stunned he even asked that question.

I never imagined he could feel the same.

I never imagined he even knew my name.

Yet here we are, hand in hand.

Feeling like we can withstand,

Withstand anything thrown.

I’ll never be alone.

Or so I thought.

His words rang throughout my head,

“You were a bet.” He said.

I broke inside hearing him speak,

“I never loved you.” He watched me become weak.

A smile arises on his face.

His friends watch in disgrace.

They disappear into the hall.

All I can do is fall.

Needles poke at my heart,

Desiring to tear it apart.

All I have is myself to blame.

I really am just an easy game.

The author's comments:

It follows an AABB pattern and describes a paining romance of falling in love, yet it's not the same for the other individual. It deeply expresses the pain, sorrow, happiness, and love the character feels from a first person point of view.
