Conflicts of The Mind
March 22, 2024
The song breezed past quick,
Was she to repeat the song,
While Anne's heart stared back,
Lila was tired, she loved Anne,
But Anne was too strong, intense.

The Poem Meaning:
Anne's heart is filled with emotion, and wonders if the first love of her life, Lila, will repeat her “song” back, but Lila is conflicted. Lila has grown worn from Anne's love, describing her as "strong" and "intense", all the while still loving Anne. What was Lila to do? Cause pain and heartache for someone she grew up with and cared deeply for? Or was she to set herself free from the suffocating songs of love? Lila doesn't know, and she never figured it out, because she never took those first steps into calming her conflicted mind.
