i feel the warm sand shift under my feet
the water trickling
the whispers of the winds flying
as i stare at the scene in front of me
the sky is flecked with purple and gold
colours associated with greatness and royalty
yet the man before brought no such feelings
a hot tear of sat rolls down my cheecks
and i ask
Why daddy, why?
Why can't I come?
Why must you leave me and mum?
water swooshes around my feet as i wait an answer
he turns, and smiles a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes
steps through the water and waves goodbye
without a word, his dissapears
behind the sand, the seas, and the blur from my tears
