The Wall Between Us
Sometimes I am bright pink.
Full of energy and excited,
bright personality and fun.
Sometimes I am light grey.
Not necessarily because I am sad,
but because I am more bland and toned down.
Different people bring out these different colors in me.
In a room full of friends I will glow bright pink.
In a room surrounded by strangers I am a dim light grey.
I am both bright pink and light grey–
I am both dim and glowing bright,
yet, no matter my color, I am still me.
